On June 2nd, Michael turned two!! Unbelievable that two years has passed???? It is safe to say that his second year FLEW BY even faster than his first! (didn't think that was possible!)
It was a real treat that his actual birthday fell on a Saturday because Daddy was able to spend the entire day with us...YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After waking up and opening some presents from the three of us, we headed out to a local petting zoo. Since, Michael looooooooves animals, we knew this was the perfect place to take him on his special day. Boy, were we NOT mistakin'...he LOVED every second that we spent there!
First stop was feeding the rabbits and then onto "petting/holding" the guinea pigs. When we first wandered into the guinea pig pen, all Michael cared about was CHASING after some poor, helpless chicken, while shouting, "Birrrrrrr!" Ha!! That's my boy! Aside, from giving me ( and the guinea pig-pen attendant) a near heart-attack after trying to pick-up countless guinea pigs (boy, was he determined), we migrated towards the goats. Oh, the goats! It was decided that we might as well buy the boy a goat (maybe we could save on our gardening expenses)...he was obsessed! The funniest part was when he would position his little body extremely close the the fence, turn his back and lean his head towards one shoulder and wait for the goat to come sniff/kiss him!
One of Hailey's most exciting parts of the morning was riding the horses (aside from holding the guinea pigs, which she was a natural with). We didn't buy Michael a ticket because the last time I took Hailey on a pony ride, Michael did not want much to do with it...at all! However, today he decided his horse riding fear was a thing of the past! After Hailey left, Michael started reaching over the fence for the attendant to put him on a horse! The man was so sweet and did just that...put Michael on a horse and away they went! He loved it and laughed the entire way:)
We topped the first half of our day off with lunch at Ruby's and then home for naps and more celebrating:)
