Let's see...I can hardly remember what I ate for lunch (wait, did I even eat lunch today??), let alone remember what occurred in our life almost six weeks ago!
- Ah, yes- after living in our community for almost six years, we FINALLY attended a concert during the Concerts in the Park series. I believe it was the "potpourri" night. You know, a little music from this decade and a little music from that decade. I made some scrumptious appetizers, picked up some dessert from French's and grabbed some pizzas from the local Italian joint and off we went! It was a TOTAL blast and Hailey rocked the park with her dance moves:) Of course, the night was only made better with the company of Uncle Fluffy, Auntie Mel, Gaga and Grandpa.
- Next up, after getting permission from his Daddy (who told him his "first tea" would also be followed by his "last tea"), Michael put on his best dress and joined Mama and some of her girlfriends for tea. He was quite the gentleman, being an angel and spending most of the tea asleep on Mama's lap (guess, all the girl talk lulled him to sleep...hehe). It was so fun to spend a couple hours sipping tea, indulging in some divine treats and chatting with the girls! Thanks, Lynnae for hosting such a great afternoon!
- Finally, when the weather got a tad bit warmer (most mild summer I have EVER remembered), we made it to the waterpark a few times.
- We helped Grandpa celebrate his birthday!
- While I have NO pictures from the week (shame on me), Hailey attended her first-ever Vacation Bible School! This five day event took place at The Bridge church and Hailey came home every evening singing the "catchy" songs or telling us all about what she learned. Of course, having Auntie Nae as her teacher, as well as Tae-Tae and Emerson in her class, made her week all the better! Sending Hailey to "Bible School" every night, meant "date night" for Mama and Daddy (and Boy-Boy, too)! Needless to say, it was a fun week for all of us!
- Mid-August, Justin was promoted to Senior Account Manager, at work! After studying like a champ, he scored 96% on a pretty rigorous, two & a half-hour exam. Way to go, J!
- We spent a long weekend in Palm Desert with our dear friends, the Boyds. Hailey and Lucas had a blast chasing eachother around the whole weekend. We can't wait to go back! A special thanks to Papa for letting us catch up on some R&R at his house!
- We had fun attending Gaga's annual work picnic, complete with lunch catered from Cafe Rio (oh yeah, and pony rides for the kids)! Hailey loved sliding down the waterslides and being a jumpin' bean inside the jumphouse!
So, there you have it...August in a nutshell:)
