I've been hearing this excuse a lot over the past few days...
Exhibit A:
Me: "Hailey, can you please help me pick up that crumb you dropped."
Hailey: "Oh Mommy, Hailey can't. Hailey have a baby girl in her tummy."
Exhibit B:
Me: "Hailey, Mama wants you to finish two more bites, please."
Hailey: "Hailey can't. She's full because she has a baby girl in her tummy."
and finally...
Exhibit C:
Me: "Hailey, it's not fair that Mommy is down on the ground picking up all your toys. You need to help me, please."
Hailey: "It's too hard for Hailey to bend down, Mommy. (yep, you guessed it...) Hailey have a baby girl in her tummy."
Apparentely, she's caught on that "having a baby in your tummy" gets you some sort of special treatment or something?? Wish it worked for me;) Kidding, but you know... a mom's job is never done, baby in the tummy or not, the world moves on! :)
